Advent Integral System

The AIS is a path‐breaking integration of aeration tank, clarifier and sludge recycling system into a single compact cost- effective unit without any moving parts, operating at high biomass concentrations with superior clarifier performance

OVERVIEW

The Advent Integral System (AIS), a n advanced activated sludge treatment process, integrating aeration, clarification, and sludge recycling into a single unit devoid of any rotating components. Developed by the visionary Dr Carl Adams of The Advent Group (USA) in collaboration with industry giants G.E. Plastics, this cutting-edge technology sets new standards with its unparalleled efficiency and operational convenience in removing Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), outshining conventional methods like Sequential Batch Reactors (SBRs) and Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors (MBBRs), and challenging Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs).

Embraced on a global scale by major players in sectors ranging from petrochemicals and chemicals to refining and steel, the AIS has left an indelible mark with almost 50 installations in India alone, catering to the diverse needs of wastewater treatment, from modest 100 KLD individual plants to sprawling 100 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in textile, steel, chemicals, paints, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, food & beverages, et al.

What truly distinguishes the AIS is its remarkable cost-effectiveness, both in terms of initial investment and ongoing operations. By avoiding any moving parts inside and leveraging patented innovations such as the “Induced Downward Sludge Velocity” coupled with biomass conditioning, it slashes capital cost by reducing the aeration volume, obviating the necessity for clarifier sludge raking mechanisms and sludge recycle pumps and its deep-tank design with single-basin concept reduces the footprint to a fraction compared to conventional plants. The technology also delivers substantial operational savings, including reduced maintenance, labour, and energy expenditures.

The AIS is highly versatile, tailored to accommodate a spectrum of organic waste strengths and easily configurable for nitrification/denitrification processes. Its versatility extends to facility upgrades and retrofits, rendering it an attractive and pragmatic choice for wastewater treatment solutions, capable of evolving alongside the changing needs of industrial operations.
